Disclosure Policy

Some of the links on this site are affiliate and referral links, for Amazon and other companies, which earn me a small “finder’s fee” when someone makes a qualifying purchase through one of these links, without costing the customer anything extra.

For example, if I share a link to a book that costs $10, you’ll click that link and pay   –wait for it……..–    $10 for the book. The company then sends me, say,  $0.20. You win – found a great new book. They win – sold a book to someone who might not have heard about it otherwise. I win – earned a small percentage of the sale. Woohoo us!

I will also sometimes post about a product, company, etc. in exchange for a product, a fee, or some other sort of (totally legal) compensation.

Any and all times I share links or reviews, etc., it’s going to be my honest-to-goodness opinion and I won’t share stuff that’s totally irrelevant to the purpose of this blog. That means no posts for drag racing or fly fishing, but you’ll see links and reviews for things like bakeware, homeschool curriculum, mills and mixers, or our favorite snack foods and recipes.

Any referrals or post payments are what help to cover the hosting costs to keep this site up, and help compensate for my time in writing and managing the blog and related social accounts. I don’t make hundreds of thousands of dollars, but it’s nice to have extra funds for things such as buying the new mill to demo so I can give you an honest review, or the 50 pounds of flour to try all the sourdough recipes so I can do video tutorials for you!

As noted above, some links in my posts may be affiliate links.  If you aren’t familiar with affiliate programs, this simply means that the linked-to site makes note of the fact that you came from Everyday Homemaking, and I will make a small percentage if you choose to make a purchase through them.  These links will not necessarily be noted as such, but they will always be sites I would have linked to anyway.  I do not ever want you, my reader, to feel compelled to make a purchase!  Links are provided so you can see what I’m talking about, get a closer look at a product, etc.  If you choose to purchase, I benefit from it in a small way, but if you don’t, that’s totally fine, too. 🙂

Privacy

DO be aware (for privacy purposes) that most of these companies track your clicks from my site by placing a small “cookie” on your computer.  (These “cookies” are a common internet practice, frequently used for things like remembering your usernames and passwords at various sites so you don’t have to continually re-enter them.)  I may use advertising service vendors to help present advertisements on the website, including Gourmet Ads.  I do not have control over cookies placed by advertisers, who may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on this and other sites you have visited, to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before and to avoid sending you duplicate advertisements. In the process, these vendors may collect non-personal data such as your browser type, your operating system, Web pages visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, and other clickstream data. The use of cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies by these advertising service vendors is subject to their own privacy policies, not mine, and Service Provider disclaims all liability in connection therewith.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.

I personally do not ever collect any information from you that it is not obvious to you is being collected.  (For instance, if you submit your email address to me through a form, I obviously have your email address; if you place an order through my shop, I collect whatever order information you give me; and so forth.  But I’m not gathering any “hidden” information.)  If you provide such information, I may use it to improve my products and services and to periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other informationI think you may find interesting, and for any obvious purpose for which you submitted it (such as sending you a product you ordered).  I do not share your information with third parties, and reasonable precautions are taken to keep your information secure.

Disclosure of Material Connection

Finally, you might want to be aware that I have connections to ParentalRights.org, in that my son-in-law is their Executive Director.  I am also a full-time consultant and speaker for HSLDA. I have several other websites, including courses at https://courses.homeschoolwithconfidence.com and sales pages at LBRI.com and Norwex.biz. I have Facebook pages/groups at Everyday Homemaking and Everyday Homeschooling. And I am an affiliated dealer for Bosch and Ankarsrum and Nutrimill products, among others.

Any views expressed in my content here are my personal views and not that of HSLDA or any other company with which I am affiliated.
